Homemade energy bites
Energy bites are an easy and delicious snack option. Essentially, they are bite sized combinations of nutritious ingredients. Rolled into bite sized balls or cut into individual pieces. Makes a convenient, no-bake, snack option that can easily be made in advance.
Ingredients you’ll need
A good thing about energy bites is that they’re made with basic ingredients—that you can find in your kitchen or pick up at a grocery store—and are VERY easily to customize.
Some common ingredients include:
A Protein Source – nut/seed butters, protein powder
A Fiber Source – oatmeal, flax meal, chia seeds
Sweeteners – honey, maple syrup, stevia
Fun Mix Ins – dried fruit, chocolate, coconut
A Flavorful Coating – after rolling your ingredients into balls or shaping them into bars, the outside can get an additional layer of flavor. Drizzle with chocolate, roll in coconut, cocoa powder or chopped nuts.
Easy overripe banana recipe
These Banana Nut Energy Bites are inspired by banana nice cream. The frozen banana dessert blended to resemble ice cream.
But, leave your food processor behind. Mash ripe bananas before combining them with the remaining ingredients —nut butters/flour, seasoning and chocolate—and freezing.
