Making The New Merch, A Behind the Scenes Look

Just Kidding.

We won’t be shipping out jewelry made from beans…Happy April Fools

Food Prank Idea:  The Jewelry You’ve Been Craving

Similar to last year’s Chocolate Easter Egg prank, we’re playing another joke with food for April Fool’s Day.

While “tricking” others to eat a specific food item is not a good plan, introducing foods in fun and unique ways can be.

Food necklace prank

The idea behind this food prank is to create a “candy” bracelet out of different beans. This is a fun “trick” to play on April Fools, but can also be a fun activity to do with kids. (Depending on child’s age, adult supervision/assistance may be required.)  You might even see them snacking on beans while they enjoy this craft.

The Jewelry You’ve Been Craving | Food Prank

Yield: varies
Active Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Difficulty: easy

A funny food prank inspired by candy necklaces.

Materials

  • Assorted Cans of Beans (dark kidney, pinto and black beans were used here)
  • Thread

Tools

  • Sewing Needle

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the beans. Dry on a towel.

  2. Cut a piece of string to your desired length and tie a knot at end. (Make sure to leave extra space at both ends to be able to tie the two ends together) Thread the other side through the needle.

  3. Collect desired bean arrangement and carefully thread each one through the needle. Best to select beans that are intact. Experiment with adding the beans in different directions as this can vary depending on the beans being used. Pull to reach the knot at the end of the thread.

  4. Once you’re happy with the strand of beans, remove the needle and tie the two ends together. Cut off excess thread.
